Be, Do, Have a Simple Explanation and Exercise

“You’ve got to be before you can do, and do before you can have.” – Zig Ziglar

I have always loved the  Be Do Have principle.

But until I understood it, I always seem to wonder why I wasn’t creating the lifestyle I wanted.

And once I got it….I mean, really got it, my life transformed!

Do you understand the power of Be Do Have?

So forget what you are doing right now and what you are thinking, for example; how much money you have or don’t have, what car you drive, and simply think Who am I BEING right now?

What thoughts are you thinking? What are you telling yourself? How comfortable are you to even look inwards and give yourself a moment  of complete stillness and attention? What comes up?

It comes back to the principle of being the person you want to be and then you do what that person would do, to have what they would have. 

It starts with your thoughts. Your thoughts are constantly creating your beliefs. When you think you can or can’t do something, you affirm it in your action. 

The “doing” is the action based your beliefs about yourself. Then, of course, we manifest or “have” what we think we can have.

There are a heap of people out there saying they want to be rich, or have a great relationship, or a loving family but don’t realize they are not being the sort of person who does the kinds of actions necessary to have those things.

Stop Thinking About What You Don’t Want

Here’s the thing with the Law of Attraction; your brain does not hear the word ‘NOT’

If you think: “Don’t screw up. Don’t screw up.” – You’ll screw up

If you think: “Don’t get sick.” – You’ll get sick

If you think: “I can’t afford that.” – you never will

Start Thinking About What You Do Want

Instead of “Don’t screw up,” try saying, “I’m going to kick-butt!”

Instead of “Don’t get sick,” try saying, “I’m staying in great health!”

Instead of “I can’t afford it,” try saying, “I will buy it soon.”

In other words, put your words in a positive light

When you change, your thoughts change, then your actions change, then new habits form and suddenly situations and people you could never of dreamed of coming to you turn up in your experience.

Here’s a couple of Examples

Many women worry constantly about being overweight.( I know I’m one of them)

What they could be doing, to harness the power of their thoughts, is focusing on “being” the thinner person. 

How would a thinner person eat? What would a person do after dinner….go for a walk or sit down and watch TV for the rest of the evening? 

Go and buy yourself a brand new pair of runners.

Instead what do some women do?

They go to the dreaded bathroom scale, look at it, feel horrible about what the scale says and attract more negative energy about their weight by the defining number. 

I know I have allowed the scale to dictate whether I was feeling great about myself or not depending upon the number.

  If I decide I’m going to be a singer. I start thinking and moving through life as a great singer. The actions I take are based on what I think about being a great singer. 

Do I believe it? Can I see myself living this way? Do I feel good when singing? 

I practice and practice. I put myself out there as a singer. I start to have results through my being and doing. People start asking to me sing at their wedding. Teams ask me to sing the National Anthem. A band wants to record with me. I put out the vibration that I am a great singer and move that way in my life.

Yes, Be Do Have!

Children understand about being. When they decide to be a pirate, princess or cowboy. They are a pirate, princess and a cowboy and nobody can tell them any differently!

Be childlike and just BE!

Always remembering that the correct sequence for getting what you want is Be, Do, Have in that order will bring huge changes to your experience.

So grab yourself a pen and paper, go and sit somewhere wonderful where its peaceful and you can let your mind wonder and start this exercise.
